Cağaloğlu Hamam is one of the biggest unisex Turkish bath which located in Eminönü distict, Istanbul. It’s very close to Yerebatan Cistern and bulit at the time of Mahmud I (1740/1741). In the regulation of the cold and hot parts of bath, you may see a different items then classical Ottoman style. In men’s section, you may see a changing room with a great dome and when you pass it you’ll see the cold part covered with a smaller dome and seven vaults. Hot part is also covered with a dome which carried by eight marble columns. There is a navel stone in the middle and private rooms on the corners. It’s the last bath before Mustafa III’s restraining order in 1768 about big Turkish baths based on the city’s need of water and firewood.
This very special historical Tırkish Bath is still an active bath and centre of attention.
